Small Favor is the tenth book in The Dresden Files and refers to the favors that Harry owes Queen Mab.
Winter came early that year: it should have been a tip-off.
When the book starts with that line, you know it’s going to be interesting. After being attacked by Gruffs in the Carpenter’s backyard, Harry gets a call from Murphy about a strange incident. After checking out the building, Mab meets Harry and calls in one of her favors: be her Emissary and protect John Marcone at all costs. Slowly everything starts to fall into place and turns out to all be related. So while trying to keep the goons of Summer from killing him, he has to find and keep alive Gentleman Johnny Marcone, crime boss of Chicago. Fun times.
This book was a nice break after everything happening in white Night. It’s always fun to go back and reread books after the newest one has come out with major revelations. It’s fun reading how certain characters act or say something and either know or wonder if they know about that big revelation. It really changes how you read certain characters. I don’t want to give anything away, but if you’ve read Changes you know what I’m talking about.
