Shut up and listen!

Our mentality is so interesting when it comes to having a cold or the flu today. So many people start to feel crummy and they run for the NyQuil and the DayQuil and all of that. If they’re thirsty, they blame it on the meds. Things would be so much simpler if they learned to listen to their bodies.

I can tell when my body is trying to fight something off. I start to drink a lot more water than usual. Sometimes I’m more tired than usual, so I try to get more sleep. I usually start craving chicken and potatoes. I’m not sure about the chicken thing, but I know that potatoes are high in vitamin C. I know there’s something about chicken that’s good for you when you’re sick, I just can’t remember what.

But, what it comes down to is I listen to what my body is telling me. Which has gotten easier since I’ve backed way off on the candy and processed foods once again. It’s amazing how good you’ll feel if you just listen to your body and follow it’s advice.
