I listened to The Bell Jar last year and posted about it. Since I already wrote a synopsis in that post, I’ll get right to it.
This is a really good book. I’m really tempted to buy it if given the opportunity. The only issue I have with it is the end. It just ends! What happened? Did she get out? The lack of closure from that really bugs me. But it does seem to have quite the impact on the story. I’m not sure what it would be like if there was that closure.
Personallym I really think the book takes off/picks up after she gets home from New York. Maybe it’s because that’s when the mental problem really becomes obvious. I do wonder what it says about me that I find that half of the book more interesting. Probably nothing, but it’s still interesting.
