New Year, new look

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, every once in a while, I change up the look around here. Who knows, I might actually stick with this one for a while. I hope I did a good job choosing something appropriate. It took me a little bit before finally getting the header figured out. I think it’s quite appropriate for here.

I also did a little bit of updating to the Polymind and Author pages. The Author? page needed quite a bit of work, but now it’s up to date!

And now, I should really go to bed. Maybe after I finish X-Men: Days of Future Past

Allons-y!

I think I’m finally ready to plunge into my room and tame it tomorrow. It’s been a mess since I left for grad school, and it’s only gotten worse. I think I have a layout that will work for me the way I need it to right now. But before I change up how everything sits in the room, I need to get it cleaned up. There’s a path in the room that leads back to stuff-covered chairs. Things need to be put away, thrown out, and recycled.

I need somewhere to work, somewhere to have my own space again. Right now I’m taking up the living room, which isn’t fair to my hubby. The living room is a space where we both should be comfortable. And as long as I take it up, he feels like he needs to be invited in. Also, the more I get my room cleaned and organized, the more I can put things away!

I just hope this feeling continues tomorrow. It should help that I have nothing else to do until hubby gets home. That means I’ll have nothing else to distract me from my work. From my space.

Clutch Dance

Whenever I drive any car other than mine, my left foot does the “Clutch Dance”. It dances around looking for the clutch until my brain catches up and goes “There is no clutch, stop that!” But I do like the idea of thinking of the shifter as a snake that I shouldn’t touch. That really would help.

Improvement

I’ll write up a more in-depth post later when my brain is fully working. But this weekend was a success! Hubby’s opinion of DC has improved. I got to sit in on an awesome Phonology class at Gallaudet. And I got to talk with some of the students, which is helping me not stress out so much. I really need to get into Gallaudet. It just feels right when I’m there. Love it!

Funk-B-Gone!

I’ve been feeling a bit funky lately. It’s probably due to the stress about grad school. But today I did some homework, was honest in it, and I’ve been feeling better ever since.

Don’t you just love it when a funk goes a way but you don’t know why? I’m just glad it’s gone! Yay!

Now off to a test and then home!

Tonight

I am really looking forward to tonight. After class whoever wants to has been going out for beer and pizza. This week the OSU ASL club is having Silent Bowling and it’s only $10 for 3 hours of bowling, shoes included. Bowling and signing. This is going to be fun. It’ll also be interesting to see these two very different groups of students (OSU and CSCC) together. My developing linguist’s brain is going to have so much fun!
